Making a marriage work takes patience and practice. This journal has been designed to usher couples into new intimacy and love for each other. With three primary areas of closeness, couples will learn how to fix common relationship problems. The question and answer area will help couples apply new information to their marriage. This book also includes real stories from the marriage trenches.

A must for newlyweds!5
When I began reading this book, I thought it was mostly geared toward young couples just starting out on their marriage journey, but I soon discovered that it’s filled with plenty of great advice for all couples, even those like my husband and me who’ve been together for almost 30 years. Each chapter is a goldmine of wisdom on how to build a strong marriage, maintain closeness and passion, and how to weather those inevitable storms that every couple has to face. I especially loved the way most chapters end with a personal anecdote from real couples who have been through just what the chapter is dealing with. It really reinforces the advice with practical application. I also loved the exercises and guidelines at the end of the book. My husband and I had a great time doing them together, and it really brought us closer.

This book will be an automatic wedding gift for all the newlyweds in my family from now on!

Christian principals for marriage5
Truth and Intimacy: A Couple’s Journal, is a book that belongs in every church library, and could serve as a workbook for marriage counseling classes. Common sense illustrations drawn from marriage partners, who have faced and overcome difficult problems, are at the heart of the book. Disagreements are inevitable in any marriage, but it is good to realize that once the problems are identified, the journey toward intimacy becomes easier.

In Anna Karenina, Leo Tolstoy observed that, “Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” Jared Diamond, in his book Guns, Germs and Steel, called this the Anna Karenina Principal, and attempted to chart the reasons why the domestication of certain animals is impossible. As God’s most complex creatures, it should not be so strange to us that certain behavioral deficiencies can doom a marriage to failure.

The last fifty pages of Truth and Intimacy is a workbook that brings the reader face-to-face with the most common problems that might occur in any marriage. I highly recommend this book.
